We absolutely love Christmas here at Quad Services! The weather is beautiful, we have time with our family and friends eating delicious food. What is not to love!

However, it can sometimes seem overwhelming if you are the host as you have so much to do – cleaning, cooking, decorating and more! But a great tip from us it to plan ahead and prepare your home so that it is a little easier.

We are in mid November which means we have a fair amount of time to prepare! Here are our top preps for this time of year:

– Start planning for the day – get your calendar out and write down who will be coming and when. This will make it easier to plan food.

– Go through your home and make a checklist of things you want to do before the holidays start. This could include clearing the yard, touching up paint, decorating or gardening. We also recommend a de-clutter now Spring is here!

– Spring clean if you haven’t already – windows, de-clutter, sort the garage, clear the garden and have a general clearout.

– Tackle any areas of renovation  that you have been putting off! Having guests at Christmas is a great motivator for doing jobs that you have struggling to do!

Having family and friends over for Christmas is so much fun, but can also leave you in a panic! There are often so many things to do in the run up to the festive season that it can sometimes seem overwhelming. However, we have some helpful tips to make life a little easier!

2 weeks before Christmas
– Do a light Spring clean of your home. This includes cleaning any windows, emptying cluttered drawers and having a good general clean up.
– Make a list of all the food you will need and prepare either an online shop so it can be delivered or plan when you can get to the supermarket.
– Finish ordering any presents online so you will have enough time to wrap well in advance.
– Decorate the tree and your home if you haven’t already!

1 week before Christmas:
– Prepare spare rooms if family or friends are spending Christmas at your house.
– Make final checks on all the food you may want over the festive season.
– Tidy your garden or balcony ready for those BBQs and outside drinks!

2 days before Christmas:
– Make the final touches to your decorations.
– Get some fresh flowers and plan your table.
– Defrost any food needed
– Double check your drinks and pop to the shops if you need to.

Quad Services hope you have a wonderful festive season and a fantastic 2017!

At Quad Services we have learnt a lot of tips over the years and we have a great one for cleaning your oven. It may be that you are allergic to certain oven cleaners or that you just ran out of products and need something to hand in your cupboard!  lemon and bicarbonate of soda.

– Clear the oven of charred bits and burnt food

– Juice a few lemons (or use bottled lemon juice) and mix with bicarbonate of soda.

– Spread over the oven and racks.

– Use the halved lemons dipped in soda as an additional scrub.

– Leave for a half an hour if you have the time.

– Wipe clean!
